_{I FINALLY CAME UP WITH A PROPER REF AFTER PRACTICING SO MUCH WITH MY TABLET.

This is still kinda just a practice, but anyway, Samael ref. After so long and I'm happy.

RACE: Fallen Angel

AGE: Roughly as old as the other Archangels, presumably a little over 10 millenia.

D.O.B: N/A

ETHNICITY: Unknown. As a human, he is French.

BIRTHPLACE: Created in Heaven, 1st Sphere.

HEIGHT: 5'11

WEIGHT: 160 lbs

EYE COLOR: Red - Very light Blue as a human

HAIR COLOR: White with a Red-Black gradient - Black as a human

WEAPONS:

+ SCYTHE - Once, he was the Angel of Death and was Azrael's superior. Typically, he'd have a scythe with him. It's his signature, and he never left it out to collect dust. Though, when he was cast out, it also changed in appearance. The scythe itself is already his Angel Blade, but he keeps a knife like that with him.

+ ANGEL BLADE - It's merely a small dagger that is also capable of killing both Angels and Demons. The end now though, is quite blunt, but he likes making his enemies suffer, so why not?

+ HAND-TO-HAND COMBAT - His abilities aren't as good as the other Archangels' and is pretty worthless compared to Raphael's. But he is quick when using this. Not his favorite thing to do though.

+ WIRES - He doesn't have a wide array of weaponry, and once, he used these 'wires' to end someone's life (i.e take their soul). These wires though, aren't created to kill angels, but only humans and demons.

+ HELL HOUNDS - Having 'pets' he can summon Hell Hounds (in the appearance of huge, black wolves) to assist him. As they are demons, they can turn into weapons and whatnot. Usually, as a sword or physically enhancing gauntlets and greaves.

ATTRIBUTE:

LUMINIS - As he is generally a 'Fallen Angel' and not a 'Demon' per se. He still has his ability of Light, and even Holy Light if he try it out once in a while. Because he is one way or another, still an Angel, there are demons who want to harm him. As the weakness is Holy Light, he uses that to his advantage.

PRAESTRIGIAE - Samael has very powerful illusionary abilities. He can become somebody else without anybody suspecting it's just a disguise. His ability is powerful enough to actually 'change' what his victims and opponents see. He can make an empty place look full, and a packed area look empty. He also uses this ability to mess those who are in pursuit of him, disorientating them to run away.

OBSCURI - He is also on the 'Heaven Hit List', and being an Angel himself, he knows the weaknesses of other Angels. After being so long in Hell, it came to the point that Darkness didn't affect him anymore, and that he is immune to it. Samael fights his brethren (who want to kill him) with this ability, because generally, it's their weakness, and now his strength.

ANIMUS - Not only can he compel someone to his control by their mental ability, but also he can also make use of their souls so that they cannot escape his grasp to them. He can also mend and bend souls to his liking, and if his puppets die, he can collect their souls too.

AERIS - He still has his wings, trust me. Samael trusts his Aerial ability not only for escaping, but as an advantage in battle as well. He can use these gusts of air to puncture others' source of air and render them unable to breathe. He has a slight ability of Ignis, and if use with powerful Air, it becomes larger and stronger, burning whatever's in his way.

+TEMPORIS - Being given the ability by Death as a Reaper, he now has a much more advanced ability to control and stop time. Back then, he used this to reap souls, and now that he's being chased, he uses this to both kill ans escape.

+ TACITUS - Paired with his Temporis ability, Samael can teleport anywhere without affecting time or space when he does so. He can also appear or the fraction of a second and disappear at once, disorientating those who see him.

SKILLS:

+ NECROMANCY - He carries a ton of souls all the time, and not only can he use these souls to 'give himself some fuel' by using their power, he can raise corpses to life again. Though, not the zombie type of thing sometimes. He feels repulsed if he does the 'zombie thing' but it renders his puppets to more power. He can also bend a number of souls into becoming weapons. Where do the souls come from? Easy, Hell. (He has 100% access to them. Astaroth would not care less.)

+ SOUL REAPING - It's not the typical slice-n'-dice as people imagine it to be. He has different ways of taking someone's life without violence. In the Ten plagues of Egypt, he became this white spirit-like figure that flew all around Israel and Egypt. At night, he disguises in his human form, a wanderer in a black cloak and visits the sick people, there, he takes their souls. In places where insanely brutal murder occurred, and souls are unwilling to leave their bodies, he uses this 'lantern' to carry the spirits away, since they are forcefully dragged away from their bodies. Don't ask, he knows the Kiss of Death and whatnot; some whores are stupid enough to kiss him. Sometimes, he can kill a person by just touching them. Some though, are 'immune' to it, such as Sierre Cho.

+ TELEKENESIS - Self-Explanatory.

+ SPIRITUAL TELEPATHY - He can hear both Angels and Demons from Heaven and Hell by allowing certain frequencies to enter his system so he can hear them. It is unknown why he still requires himself to talk to the other Archangels. He communicates with his Infernal partners using this as well, if neither are willing to talk face to face due to laziness.

+ REALM IMMUNITY - Being An Angel and a resident of Hell for so long, he can walk through both realms with no problem at all. It is unknown if he is allowed to Heaven, still.

+ ALTERING THE MIND - He can completely erase someone's memory and make up nonexistent memories out of it. This is especially done to families who have lost a loved one.

AFFINITY: (Formerly) Heaven - Former Archangel (Current) Hell - Lucifer - Humanity

CONTRACT: Alice Yakolev

RELATIONS:

+ ALICE YAKOLEV - Both of them didn't actually start out well. He was accidentally summoned by Alice. Even more to his dismay, Alice didn't know what she was doing. He 'kind of' forgave her for it, well, when she started explaining Astaroth. When he went to Hell, the older scolded him on coming back, because he had already predetermined his contract. Samael wasn't willing to stay with 'that Witch'. He went back, and just to see and 'help her', he tormented her, physically and mentally. When Alice finally proved herself, he softened up to her and became friends. He was bound to her for a contract, which, was not even fulfilled yet. It was years later they developed a 'friends-with-benefits' relationship, and sometime later on that Alice was impregnated (and he found out she was Nephilim.) It took them a while to actually become lovers, but they managed to work things out. Even if he knows that Alice can take care of herself, he still worries for her because he KNOWS there is a lot going on with her right now, and wonders how she can deal.

+ KANIKA BEZALEL - They had some bad blood with each other before. Kanika didn't like how Samael treated Alice, and she didn't like how he had conditions before he can soften up to her friend. Kanika constantly nagged him about it, and it annoyed him to no end. Though, it got better in the get-go. They became friends just as Alice and he did. However, right now Kanika is suspecting him of strange things such as being a double agent. She didn't want to think that way, since Samael had been with the group ever since he was summoned by Alice. She would have to trust him that nothing stupid would come out of him.

+ KHRYSANTA and RAIN NIVELON - What made Samael really love Alice were their kids. He's protective of them, but he'd also like to see what they can do. He knows they are capable of taking care of themselves, and that they are quite strong themselves, being the children of a Nephilim AND a pure angel. He still likes to treat them as if they were 10, though.

+ RIKKI YOUNGE - He doesn't like Rikki. Period. But the other tries to reason with him that they are alike, and that they know how to relate with each other and that he understands him, being 'controlled' to do Heaven's bidding. Samel swears that he's going to end up killing Rikki in the end out of pure annoyance. He even questions Samyaza, Rikki's father, why he has such a kid. The other though, mentions he isn't aware of Rikki's activity, because his partner, Reitta, had blocked off Samyaza from finding Rikki and catching up.

+ SHAX - Shax is generally Samael's butt-buddy in almost everything related to Hell. Shax was also one of the first demons to actually befriend him when he was cast out. For some reason, the Fallen felt like he could trust Shax, and he wasn't wrong. However, he still regrets that he is semi-betraying his dear friend.

+ ASTAROTH - His brother, a fellow Fallen. Astaroth doesn't talk much, nor does he even want to. But just by looking at his eyes, Samael can already tell what he wants to say, even if it looks like the deepest, one-sided conversation ever. The older, (Astaroth) would try to talk and make a proper conversation with Samael once in a while, even if he isn't up for it. They both tend to the souls in Hell, and those who are still to be judged.

+ AZAZEL - Azazel was also an Angel of Death himself, and Samael as his superior. Though Azazel fell later on, Samael was the first to bring him to refuge. They were close friends ever since they were still in Heaven, and until now. Azazel is a troll to everyone he meets (not as bad as Shax though) and Samael would tend to join him in messing around with anybody and everybody, and consider it just a small act of fun. Azazel apparently the 'godfather' of Samael's kids, and are close to them himself.

+ SAMYAZA - Samael really dislikes how low Samyaza views Alice. He is very willing to kick his ass anytime and everytime. Samyaza sees Samael as a superior figure, and wonders why he isn't doing his job as well as before. Even if he isn't doing his job as well, he makes up for it by at least doing SOMETHING and it's not for Samyaza to know. They argue. A LOT.

+ LUCIFER - There are more Archangels than one thinks. Samael is close to all his siblings, even Lucifer. He felt terrible when Lucifer had to be cast down, and even worse when he declared war on God with the other angels who were discontent with his decisions. Having to choose, he did not. He was cast down, and had no other choice but to run to Lucifer for help. Their relationship is not very strained, not at all. They just don't talk a lot. Lucifer is very well aware that Samael is being monitored, hence why he keeps distance. Samael though, is unaware of this.

+ DEATH - Death is that one being that Samael truly fears. Get on her nerves, and he's going to have to explain to save himself. She was kind enough to give him refuge after his fall, and tended to his wings until they were healed. She taught him more about what he needed to know about souls, about how to get them and treat them. She even gave him the knowledge of which souls will go to Hell or Heaven. He considers her his 'mother' and even refers to her as 'moms'.

+ MICHAEL - Like Lucifer, Samael was close to Michael. Both of them begged him to side with either when war was going on in Heaven. Samael, being indecisive, was forced to side with Lucifer, even if he didn't want to have anything to do with it. He cares for Michael, but is afraid that the latter's mad at him and would want to kill him. They only communicate through Spiritual Telepathy.

+ SARIEL and AZRAEL - These two were his subordinates back then. He had some mutual friendship with them, but it died out. The three of them do their own thing now, Sariel still sticking to Azrael, now that Azrael's the Angel of Death and Sariel his sub. They used to talk, but the two don't talk to him anymore. As in 0 communication. He can still hear what they talk about though, and troll on them by saying a short 'hi' then disappearing.

+ NATHANAEL - Nathanel really just does't like Samael. They were once close, but Nathanael became judgmental towards due to the fact that was being so indecisive during the war. Well, at least now that things are a bit cooled down between them, they don't talk to each other much. Samael isn't willing to have arguments with Nate about the past.

+ SELAPHIEL - He hates Selaphiel. period. He thinks she's a snarky, evil bitch. She'd do anything to keep him monitored in Heaven, and everyone would know what he's up to. He knows her tricks, but she is so persistent, he'd kill her when given the chance. Heck, he knows she is his sister, but he'd rather not have anything to do with her. He nearly killed her a number of times, and he is aware that he is weakening her. He suspects she goes to Nirvana to recharge.

+ PAIMON - Paimon is one of the other Fallen Angels, and is Lucifer's Right-Hand. Samael has this friendly working relationship with him, and the other considers it a mutual feeling. They're friendly with each other, they know what each wants and needs, and they're actually pretty close. This kind of friendship only happened after Samael fell, though.

PERSONALITY:

Samael isn't the kindest being out there, and is willing to make you miserable whenever he can. When he doesn't like you, he doesn't really show it, he just messes around with you to make you think he's just annoying. When he does like you, he acts friendly, and would try to make humorous remarks. He can get really nice if you're friends, but he can also be your worst nightmare if you get him angry.

He likes to 'play with his food before eating it'. He's more cruel than compassionate to those who aren't in his inner circle, and gets quite judgmental. He also has a mind of his own most of the time, and it ticks others off. He also tends to ignore others if they're not his inner circle or someone he is familiar with, even Belphegor I dare say.

He's sarcastic, cunning and whatnot. He knows what's going to kill you or not, and if he's angry, he's going to mess with your mind, making your soul more unwilling to let go, hence strengthening it. He knows what will benefit him.
Samael can also be caring, only to those in his inner circle. Such as Alice, Kanika, his children and whoever. He keeps trying to stretch his patience a ton, especially with the other Archangels. (He is kind of fine with Raziel though) Samael has tendencies that usually regard violence, but they've calmed down at least, but when there's an urge, it's dangerous.

HISTORY:

He was born among the Archangels first created. Nobody knows who came before him, or who was after him. All they know was that he was once an Archangel, and one of the youngest. He had a happy life with his siblings, and he was really one of the most hyperactive of the group. He tends to get annoying, but he loved his Father, and all his siblings. He was naive those millenia, he was innocent. God created man then, and Samael was assigned the head of the Angels of Death, with Azrael and Sariel under his command as his lieutenants. He didn't mind, he was just doing his job. It came to a point that God asked all of his subjects to bow down to man. A number of Angels were discontent, most especially Lucifer. No matter how God insisted, they still didn't bow down to man. Lucifer and the Angels were angered, and God had Michael cast them down. It was a while later, that war was declared on Heaven, and Michael was leading the forces against Lucifer. Samael was asked by Michael to be his Right-Hand, but Lucifer called from below for his aid (Samael was slightly closer to Lucifer, but he didn't want to go against God AND Michael. He loved them both.) It persisted, and he wanted nothing of it. He declared his neutrality, and by force, Michael was commanded to cast him down.

Samael had no choice but to run to Lucifer, who accepted him with open arms. He was still naive, innocent and scared. Apparently and eventually, he started to grow stronger individually. He became cold and uncaring after his Fall, but still did his job in taking the souls of the sinful and bringing them down to Hell, to his brother, another Fallen: Astaroth. He didn't care much, he did his job, but he thought, since he was cast out, he was free to do what he wanted. He mingled with humans in human form. One night though, he was resting himself on a mountain. He closed his eyes then appeared in a dark, blue flame-lit area. He was met by death, who saw all that happened to him. She knew what he could do, and taught him how to be a reaper. He was the most powerful of reapers, and became her champion. He grew a close friendship with her, and even came to the point he referred to her as 'Moms'. Later on, two hundred and two angels were sent to earth to teach the Humans. The leaders were no other than his two "butt-buddies" Samyaza and Azazel, who were 'loose cannons' and thus they were sent there. Samael helped them, of course. But it led to him being monitored by Aniel and Kazfiel. Centuries passed, and the 'Watchers' started mating with human women, thus, making the first batch of Nephilim on Earth. Samael thought it was outrageous, and scolded them for what they were doing. It was mentioned that they were 'doing a test' to see what the spawn would look like. The flood came, just near two centuries later. Then the Nephilim tests kept going on and on until they looked just as normal humans did, not giants, not inhuman. They had power, and Samael fled in dismay.

He still had good in him, and his older sister, another Archangel, Selaphiel went down to talk to him. She had the power of compulsion, and had him compelled to Heaven's control for a temporary time. The last thing known that he did for Heaven was do the last Plague, The Death of The Firstborn. After that, he managed to get out of Selaphiel's control, and went under the radar. He mingled with humans, killed Angels and Demons, wayward or not. He started to develop his abilities more by killing and using them as practice. He'd even do 'test runs' in Hell. It was then he started becoming who he is now, his naivety and innocence were slowly disappearing and dying out.

Somewhere in the late 1300s, he was summoned by a Nephilim Tenebrian Witch, Alice Yakolev, out of pure accident. Being the now cunning, snarky self, he had tried harming her and whatnot. It was only then, she started fighting back and that she didn't like the treatment he gave her. There were times he'd be impressed with her, she IS a Nephilim. He softened up to her, and became friends with her. He had not felt lighter or more at peace like this in a long time. He grew feelings, he was warm inside. She was kinder than he thought she would be. They had a friends-with-benefits relationship, the first night being Alice's agreement to the Soul Pact. They had grown distant because Alice was impregnated by him a few years later. His warm feelings inside turned cold again, but he didn't show that. It was then, he still had even the smallest hint of his innocence in him. When their children were born, he had tried fixing things up with Alice, and grew to care more for her and raise their children.
Worst came to worst that the Witch Hunts were at their worst. He had Alice and Kanika flee for their safety. He begged Paimon to let the other 7 Royalties of Hell hide the 7 Clans of the Tenebris Clan. In fact, Hell's second had the same idea. They hid away for Centuries, letting the Demons and Fallen kill off the candor and the Angels. It was then, that Selaphiel finally had caught him, and now he was under observation yet again. He was unaware of this, and even until now, he didn't know how and why he keeps being found by Angels. It's only his abilities as a 'Reaper' that he managed to steer clear. Being a former Archangel, he knows a few tricks. But Selaphiel won't let him go just like that.

He finds out that he is being monitored, and has really, REALLY bad blood with Selaphiel. One of his goals is to kill her, now. But before he could do that, he needs to know that his family and inner circle won't be harmed while he's doing it.

BONUS FACTS:

+ For some reason, Samyaza, his brother (and another Fallen), tried sawing off his horns. And when he did, it's as if it didn't hurt Samael at all. In truth, it was just 'for decoration to look cooler'. He grew them back in no time.

+ Samael is one of those Angels who can easily alter appearance without much effort. Such as "growing horns" and whatnot. Cutting them off won't hurt him, only his ego (he likes his appearance with it)

+ He mysteriously disappears from time to time, nobody knows why (PLOT TWIST BTW)

+ He is suspected as a Double-Agent. Well, he mysteriously disappears.

+ He can use rifles and the like as a human, but I decided not to put that in his WEAPONS area because this is just a minor ability.

+ He tends to nag Alice to drag their kids to work, whereas the Nephilim would have to disagree (you know how moms are!)

+ Kanika questions why he still talks to the other Archangels up there.

+ His human name is Corin Nivelon.

+ It's funny how his appearance is a mix of Western-Eastern descent. But he is French, one way or another.
